Milestones

1949

Atlantic Research Corporation (ARC) begins developing propellants for DOD.

1970

ARC supplies propellant to Allied Chemical for automotive passenger-side airbag business.

1989

BAICO joint venture formed to manufacture inflators. Partners: ARC (propellant) & AlliedSignal (module).

1998

ARC acquires 100% of BAICO, opens marketing offices in Tokyo, Frankfurt & Seoul.

2005

ARC launches manufacturing operations in Xi'an, China (JV with Qinghua).

2015

ARC launches manufacturing operations in N. Macedonia.

2016

Yin Yi/Sensteed becomes major shareholder of ARC. Began propellant manufacturing operations in North America.

2017

ARC launches manufacturing operations and opens Engineering Center in Ningbo, China.

2024

20th anniversary of the Xi'an plant. ARC produced 500 Million inflators.

2025

ARC launching manufacturing operations in Thailand.
